Refund Policy
It is your responsibility to determine if you need to complete this training program. Refunds for the training program will not be offered if you discover you are not required to complete the training program.
For example no refunds will be granted for the following reasons:
- I enrolled but found out that I don’t need to do the training
- I don’t qualify with SIRA to deliver treatment services in the NSW workers compensation scheme and the motor accident scheme
- I didn’t get the job I applied for which required me to complete the training.
There will be a $50 Non refundable fee if you are eligible for the refund, and it can take up to 2 weeks to process your request. Credit Card Fees will also be applied to the refund.
University Training
Your University training doesn’t cover you for SIRA approval. It may cover you for performing functional & workplace assessments but you will need to contact ESSA to confirm.
To be approved as SIRA treating allied health practitioner, you are required to successfully complete the SIRA mandatory online training.

SIRA Allied Health Practitioner Introductory Training Program
The SIRA Allied Health Practitioner Introductory Training Program is a Self-Paced online program, delivered by PIEF on behalf of SIRA.
The training program focuses on the role and expectations of allied health practitioners providing treatment services in either the NSW workers compensation scheme, or the motor accident scheme, or both.
The training program covers off:
- allied health practitioner requirements
- SIRA and the NSW personal injury schemes
- principles for treating injured people
- Clinical Framework For the Delivery of Health Services
- value-based health care
- metrics for monitoring and reporting healthcare outcomes and costs.
SIRA provides education and training for allied health professionals, insurers, legal and medical professionals. The training requirements differ depending on which scheme you're working in.

Please note: PIEF is not in any way responsible for granting approval for you to deliver treatment services in the NSW workers compensation or motor accident schemes. It is your responsibility to consider your eligibility for approval. No refunds for training will be offered should your application be assessed as unsuitable by SIRA.
SIRA workers compensation treating allied health practitioner approval application
The successful completion of this training is a mandatory requirement to apply for SIRA allied health practitioner approval to treat in the NSW workers compensation scheme for a period of three (3) years. Before you register for this online training, please refer to both Appendix 1 Workers compensation guideline for approval of treating allied health practitioners, and the SIRA application form to confirm that you meet the requirements for SIRA approval.
Completion of this training does not provide automatic SIRA approval. To apply please complete your SIRA application form and submit it via email to providers@sira.nsw.gov.au.
